Axios / The Hill / Bloomberg via Getty Images – AUSTRALIA’s trade agreement with the United States has been hit with an embarrassing trade lawsuit filed by Canada.
A group of more than 300 Canadian companies have filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Washington against the Trump administration and the U.N. General Assembly, accusing the U,S.
of violating its commitments under the trade pact and its rules of origin by refusing to remove Canada’s tariffs.
The lawsuit claims that the U., the United Kingdom and Canada are “trying to stop the free flow of trade” and “stifle economic activity” in the country by imposing trade restrictions.
The U.K. and the United Nations have denied the allegations.
