By APTN National NewsPublished Nov 08, 2018 07:24:00The number of global trade deals signed last year surpassed last year’s total number of deals signed in 2019, the World Trade Organization said in a report released Thursday.
The International Trade Commission said the number of agreements signed by countries increased by 10.3 per cent last year to 7,766,527.
That’s a jump of nearly 4 million deals.
The U.S. overtook Canada and the U.K. to become the world leader in trade, overtaking China.
China overtook India to become its biggest trading partner, with the U!
leading the way with 1,812,566 deals signed.
The United States overtook Russia to become Asia’s second largest trading partner and overtook Brazil to become Europe’s third largest.
